Does anyone know the story of Sarah? She was married to Abraham. And she was beautiful, the name Sarah in Hebrew means princess or noblewoman. The Bible says she was so pretty that Abraham was afraid that when other people saw her, they might kill him to have her.
God had chosen Abraham. God told Abraham to go to a new land and God promised Abraham that he would be the father to a great nation; he would have a family as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the earth if Abraham trusted and believed the Lord. God also wanted him to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord. And do you know what? Abraham believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him righteous.
The problem was Sarah couldn’t have any children. She and Abraham had tried for many years to have children and…nothing. Wouldn’t it be hard to hear God promise you something, but year after year, it didn’t happen? It makes me wonder what Sarah thought as she would hope and wait for a child to come and even watch all the other women around her, including her servant Hagar, have a baby and she couldn’t.
One day, when Sarah and Abraham were very old (98 years old) and way past the time Sarah could have a baby, three visitors came. One of them asked where Sarah was and she was in a tent nearby. This visitor told Abraham that next year at this time, Sarah will give birth to a son.
Now Sarah was listening and overheard what the visitor had said. She laughed out loud and said to herself, “How could a worn out woman like me enjoy this pleasure, especially when my husband is so old too?”
Right then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say that? Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you next year and you will have a son.” (And on a side note, Sarah was afraid and lied, she said, “I did not laugh.” Then the Lord said, “Yes you did.” God is good even when we mess up.)

And sure enough, the Lord was gracious to Sarah and did what He had promised. Sarah did become pregnant and had a son. Abraham and Sarah named him Isaac (which means, one who laughs). Abraham was 100 years old.
Sarah said after Isaac was born, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”
That must of been a very special time for Sarah! And we can learn so much from her story. Especially how God always keeps His promises. No matter what! Even if we’re 100 years old. You can count on what He says in his word! And nothing, no nothing is impossible with God!
Go read all about this in Genesis 17.

Blooming Challenge: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and know that His promises are Yes! Nothing is impossible with God.
Oh, how good He is!!
